Callouts 132 & 133:

No 132: At tea time yesterday, the team was contacted by Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police with regards to a family group who had become lost and benighted in the waterfalls area around Pontneddfechan.

The group had been out for a daytime walk but found themselves on the wrong path and encountered difficult ground on their way back. Whilst trying to retrace their steps decided that with the difficult ground and failing light that it was better to make a call for assistance, absolutely the correct decision.

Their location was quickly established and two team members made their way to the group.
Having made sure everyone was well and uninjured they were walked back out, with the help of further MR personnel lighting the way.

With help from Brecon MRT and Western Beacons MSRT.

No 133: Contacted by South Wales Police : Heddlu De Cymru later in the evening with regards to concerns for a high risk missing person who was believed to be in the Central Beacons area.

Working in poor weather which prevented the use of air support, combined MR and police search teams were deployed on the ground once the persons last known position was confirmed.

Fortunately the person was located quickly, was assisted back to the control point and then taken to hospital for welfare checks.

Working with our colleagues from Brecon MRT who also provided support with their vehicles whilst ours are off the road following the fire at our base.

Everyone returning home in the early hours of this morning.
