CALLOUT 96/17: We were called today to a 10 year old boy who had fallen a considerable distance and landed at the base of a waterfall in the Ystradfellte gorge. Due to the nature of the lad’s injuries this incident had all the “Bells & Whistles” thrown at it to make sure he received the very best medical care. A major multi agency response was undertaken by Mountain Rescue, Maritime and Coastguard Agency Helicopter 187, Wales Air Ambulance, Wales Ambulance Service, Dyfed Powys Police.
The lad was packaged for a winch out by Rescue 187 from the base of Sgwd Isaf Clun Gwyn a winch that needed amazing skill by the crew of Rescue 187. He was then flown to Morriston Hospital in under 10 mins. We wish him the very best in his recovery. With Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team and Brecon Mountain Rescue Team
