Callout (106): The team were requested by Gwent Police to assist with the recovery of a dog that had fallen about 10m into a crevice on the top of the mountainside above Blaina.
In attendance alongside the Gwasanaeth Tân ac Achub De Cymru / South Wales Fire and Rescue Service line rescue unit from Ebbw Vale.
Fortunately whilst getting equipment and personnel sorted at the RV we were advised by the fire officer who had gone ahead with a local farmer that they managed to extract the dog and along with the owner were making their way off the hill.
Nothing for it but we then had to tuck into to the tea and cakes that were kindly provided by Gwaelod y Gelli farm in whose yard we were using as the RV.
