Today we were contacted by Dyfed Powys Police with reports of a group of 7 adults and 5 children who had sought assistance having become lost in poor visibility in the main Beacons area.
With their phone now out of contact a decision had to be made by one of our Incident Controllers on where we thought the group may be, based on the rest of the information that had been passed to the police. With assistance from Western Beacons MSRT and Brecon MRT a search was started from two locations into the most likely area. Fortunately they were discovered quite quickly by one of the search parties having continued to make their own way off the hill. Once it was established everyone was in reasonable condition they were assisted back to the control vehicle for drinks and a warm up.
As this incident was concluding our 4×4 vehicle also encountered two other walkers who had ended up in the Neuadd valley in error, not quite what they had planned, so to avoid any further mishaps our 4×4 took them back round to their vehicle at Pont ar Daf.
