Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team is pleased to announce the commissioning of a brand new response vehicle. A gift from the Freemasons of South Wales.

On Friday 12 April Team Leader Penny Brockman, accompanied by other members of CBMRT, were honoured to be invited to make a presentation to the members of Lord Swansea Lodge and to show its members the vehicle and equipment and explain its function.

The vehicle with the call sign ” Mobile 1” undertook its maiden voyage the following Sunday. CBMRT responded to a multiagency call out to assist with the rescue of an off road motorcyclist (and 2 further call outs have since taken place at time of posting).

Patrick Pattison said: ” I and the Masonic Benevolent Fund are delighted to help the Central Beacons Mountain Rescue Team with the purchase of the new vehicle and we are delighted that this donation is immediately helping to save lives in the principality.”

Penny Brockman said: “On behalf of CBMRT I would like to say a huge thank you to the Freemasons of South Wales for their extremely generous donation. Mobile 1 will be an invaluable asset and will be used in rescues across South, Mid and West Wales and undoubtedly will contribute to saving many lives in the area.”
