Saturday night searching for us last night after we were called just before 7.30pm to assist our Brecon Mountain Rescue colleagues with the search for 3 hillwalkers who’d phoned in after becoming misplaced walking off Pen Y Fan.
Fortunately they had phone signal and from talking to them to get their descriptions of what they could see we identified an area where we thought they might be.
Within a short space of time one of our hill search parties located the group safe and well close to forestry above Pontsticill reservoir near Merthyr Tydfil. Once the usual welfare checks were completed we walked them to the roadside then drove them back to their car in one of our 4x4s.
