Callouts:
Number 141 of the year last night just before 7.30pm we were called by Western Beacons Mountain Search and Rescue Team , South Wales Police : Heddlu De Cymru and Heddlu Dyfed Powys Police to rescue two walkers who’d got into difficulty alongside the river near Dinas Rock at Pontneddfechan.
A search party and a water rescue team were despatched both sides of the fast flowing river, using Sarloc Rescue and the couple’s torches we quickly located them. Thankfully they were uninjured and we escorted them back to the car park for reuniting with their car.
Incident number 142 then occurred.
As we began the drive home, a team member onboard WBMRT’s Land Rover spotted a gentleman flat-out alongside the road on the outskirts of Pontneddfechan village. We stopped and helped treat his serious head wound and neck injury. In the pouring rain we loaded him onto a rescue stretcher, he was then conveyed to hospital by Western Beacons’ ambulance.
Another eventful evening.
