Callout: Number 84 of 2017.
At 3pm this afternoon we were called out to rescue a male walker who’d dislocated his knee while walking near Scwd Yr Eira waterfall near Ystradfellte. Thanks to the National Park marker post numbering we were quickly able to identify his position and able drive our 4×4 response vehicle close to him.
With his leg immobilised, pain relief administered and working jointly with Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust, officers from Dyfed Powys Police and volunteers from Brecon Beacons National Park we stretcher carried him to the 4×4 and drove him out of the forestry to the awaiting road ambulance for onward journey to hospital.
Our best wishes to him for a speedy recovery.
