CALLOUT: This evening the team was called by South Wales Police : Heddlu De Cymru to assist officers with the evacuation of a gentleman from the forestry above Clydach Vale. He had slipped and injured his ankle whilst out walking his dog. Officers attended initially but due to the terrain an evacuation by stretcher was necessary and that was swiftly achieved once team members arrived on scene. The gentleman was recovered to the roadside and then officers transported him to hospital for further medical checks. We hope that his injuries are only minor and he is soon back on his feet.
